Arrive in Meknes
Arrive in Meknes and eat wonderful welcoming breakfast at our beautiful school :-)
First of all, the AALIM center is beautiful! And there's a beautiful terrace on the roof.
Meknes, from what I have seen (and it's only 10am..) is soooo quiet. Just birds chirping. And I think they're mostly swallows which I'm super excited about b/c I only just found out about swallows a couple weeks ago and I've been slightly obsessed since.
There's a tree that is one of the ones I saw in Egypt that looks like it could be a mimosa but it has bright lavender flowers with petals (not like mimosa flowers). That's the only blooming thing I've seen so far but I've only just seen the center and my family's home.

sooooooooooo bright! colors everywhere! The salon is red, the kitchen is orange, our bedroom is pink, their room is orange, the hallway is blue and pink!
AND we have a closet with plenty of room for two people
The place is like a 5 star modern hotel. 2 bathrooms even! a HUUUGE kitchen. I just said I was dehydrated and I'm pretty sure my host mom is going to hand make me some juice with orange, lemon, and some carrot. She says I can't help her, so I'm just going to finish writing this email :)
My roommate is really nice. We actually hadn't seen each other before today so that was kind of strange, but she's soo sweet and seems to have a good work mentality when it comes to making communication work with the family. And they say we're paired by skill level so that should be good.
My host mom speaks mostly french. I think she's trying to communicate in a way we'll understand but my roommate doesn't know any french and we're here for Arabic, so hopefully we can sit down over juice and ask her to challenge us by only using arabic.
I better go, juice is here!
OH one last thing! THERE"S INTERNET HERE! and it's good! so we can skype any time, just send me a text and we'll set it up :-)
